Yarrow Powder – Wound Care

With antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, Yarrow can help prevent infection, cleanse wounds, promote tissue repair and speed up wound healing.  It is a good choice for shaving cuts, skinned knees, bleeding mosquito bites, and other minor wounds.

The Latin name Achillea is named after the legendary Greek hero Achilles. According to the common legend, Achilles’s mother dipped him into the river Styx by the ankle to make him invulnerable. Fighting many battles as a seemingly invincible warrior, Achilles used yarrow to treat the wounds of his fellow soldiers. He later died from a wound to his heel, as it was the one unprotected part of his anatomy.  Yarrow powder is a must for your herbal First Aid medicine cabinet!

Suggested Use: Apply a small amount of Yarrow powder directly to any minor cuts, scrapes, insect bites, or other abrasions.  You can affix a band aid or wrap over the powder to secure it in place. It can also be used for pets. If you happen to cut the cuticle, cover the claw with some powder and it should stop the bleeding quickly.

Precautions: Discontinue use immediately if irritation occurs.

Store in cool dark place.
